I will have a sales table at Con – Tribution 2026, the table top gaming convention, in Peoria, next weekend, April 11 and 12th, at the Four Points Sheraton hotel and convention center. It’s a charity fundraising convention, bring your money and your heart!

I will have both my books, LAIR and BORING ALICE on sale, with a special discount combo price. If you buy the combo, you will also get a custom book marker with Boring Alice theming and a free mini model of the Boring Alice starship! There will be other swag like crew patches as well, and maybe more surprises. Gamers and Sci-F fans, come out to the River City, go home with a starship and a story!

Both LAIR and BORING ALICE will be on sale, but if you buy both, for the discount convention combo price, you get a custom bookmark, with a micro-sized model of the Boring Alice starship, FREE!. I’ll also have a large model of the starship on display, and some other swag like crew patches, so come visit the convention and say hi!

People ask me what Boring Alice is like. If you liked “Firefly” and “Serenity“, you’re going to feel at home with this ship and crew. Only, as Iris the Astrogator says: “He’s not a bad PERSON – just not a great CAPTAIN.” You’ll meet the crew that gets this bad captain out of a jam on the regular, and the secret agent assigned to straighten out the ship while pursuing a secret mission of his own.

    January 2026

Had a blast at my first book signing and sales event at Vinegar Hill Mall! We nearly sold out all the copies of LAIR on hand, I got to sign quite a few books, and it gave me the same thrill as my first open-mic music experience – I want to do this again and again!

This was also the soft-launch of my newest book, “BORING ALICE”, which got some early downloads on Amazon already. Here’s the description:

The Astrogator of the starship Borealis-2 complains; “Nothing exciting EVER happens on this old bucket – we might as well call her ‘Boring Alice’ instead…”

But things won’t be boring much longer, as a mysterious new member joins the misfit crew of a tramp star freighter, trying to make living in the unappetizing edges of charted space. And there’s their latest client, who is sending them on a mercy mission into an interstellar war zone…

Yep, same-old routine for the Boring Alice. Can you hang on for the ride?

Told in a fast-paced cinematic style, illustrated by celebrated space artist Andy Bigwood, Boring Alice is classic space opera, part one of a series by Mark P. Suszko, the author of the classic SF novel; LAIR. Inspired by science fiction tabletop role-play, RPG gamers will especially enjoy the twists and turns of this short adventure for all ages.

Available now in print and Kindle, soon to be an audiobook as well!

LAIR has been gaining some traction, with multiple positive reviews. Please, if you’ve read it, I need as many reviews on the Amazon page for the book as possible, to help fund more stories. If you do book Tok or other review sites, please consider a review of LAIR to help get the word out!

We are currently working on the Kindle tablet and ePub version of LAIR, which should be out there by Christmas. LAIR is now on the bookshelves at the public libraries in Springfield, IL, Chatham, IL, and Rochester, IL and I have had my first overseas sale in Australia, which is fair dinkum to me.

In the works right now, I have a short story coming out in late November/early December in this year’s FARK.COM annual anthology. This will be the third year in a row the anthology has selected me for inclusion and I’m grateful. The story is called; “The Albaneye Breakout“, and is also set in the same “Grizverse” as LAIR. ALbaneye is about to get expanded to twice its size after it comes out in the anthology, with a surprise. The extended-length novella version of this story will in effect become a prequel to the events in LAIR. Does LAIR need a sequel? I’ve got ideas, but what do YOU think?

Hot of the heels of Albaneye Breakout is my next book, part one of a planned trilogy (or Netflix series). It’s called “Boring Alice“, and will be exclusively digital, on Amazon and Apple Books. More details in future updates, and maybe a contest for you to help choose the cover art!

What is going on in Japan!?!?! I am starting to pick up readers there, and I got a customer in Australia, which is practically an alien planet all by itself. Thank you, readers, Arigatou gozaimasu and welcome to the Griz-verse!
